Boréal Design was founded in 1991 by two mechanical engineers, Éric Blouin and Nathalie Simard. Day by day their shared passion for sea kayaking leads them to capitalize on their technical expertise to design and build safe, high performance craft. NARWHAL
The Narwhal is comfortable, stable and easy to paddle. Its length and volume provide the storage space to meet the needs of most Sea kayakers. ALVIK
The Alvik is designed for the intermediate paddler seeking performance, comfort and elegance. It is also an excellent option for the beginner who aspires to attain a higher skill level. NANOOK
The Nanook is designed for individuals weighing 90 kg (200 lb) or more. This kayak has a deeper profile, offering ample room for the legs, thighs and feet. For added comfort and freedom of movement, the cockpit and seat are larger than those of other composite models. This is a very stable, high performance kayak characterized by a moderate rocker adding to its manoeuvrability, even in choppy water conditions.

SAGUENAY
With its great load capacity, the Saguenay is ideal for long expeditions. It is remarkably responsive, in both calm and choppy water conditions. A moderate rocker allows the kayak to change directions quickly while leaning or using the rudder. The Saguenay combines the speed of a long craft with the nimbleness of a shorter kayak and offers an excellent compromise between primary and secondary stability.

LABRADOR
This medium volume model is a member of the family of the reverse hard chine, a line of performance-oriented kayaks for which BORÉALDESIGN is well known. The Labrador is designed for paddlers looking to combine speed and exceptional tracking ability with sufficient storage for excursions lasting several days. The Labrador's long waterline and hull shape are optimized to reduce the impact of wave and water friction. The Labrador is available with a variety of options, including rudder or skeg, a comfort or backband seat and the choice of adding a day hatch and third bulkhead.

KASKO
The Kasko is a very responsive recreational kayak ideally suited to exploring winding rivers, lakes and coastlines. Its cockpit is smaller than that of the Ookpik, allowing the paddler a better fit and therefore better control. For added adjustment, the Kasko can be equipped with thigh braces.

OOPIK

OOPIK DUO
With a hull shape combining reverse hard chines and slightly concave bottom, this kayak unites performance, wave-riding capability and a surprising level of stability. Using the Ookpik and Esperanto as models, we designed a two-person kayak that can be paddled solo, thanks to a sliding seat. The great versatility of the Ookpik Duo makes it an ideal family craft.

MUKTUK
The Muktuk's low profile offers plenty of thigh support, making it ideal for small to medium-sized paddlers. Its shape generates minimal wind resistance, and the kayak is highly responsive during turns. A tapered contour adds speed to a craft that is stable, comfortable and easy to paddle. For closer adjustment, thigh braces may be added as an option.

The Inukshuk, combining elegance and performance, is unquestionably the fastest kayak in its category.
